The Korea Economic Daily reported that GOLFZON Newdin Group Chairman Kim Young-chan, marking the company’s 20th anniversary, has declared a “second founding” with the goal of building the “Google of Golf.” According to the report, his strategy for the next 20 years is to launch an integrated platform that handles everything in golf\u2014screen golf, on-course play, practice, and payment\u2014in one place, and to create a “GOLFZON cultural empire” where people around the world enjoy golf on the GOLFZON network. The paper added that GOLFZON has grown into a lifestyle sports platform on which approximately 120,000 people enjoy 60 million rounds annually across 63 countries each day, and that its revenue has increased 470-fold over the 20 years since its founding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Korea Economic Daily reported that Chairman Kim also unveiled a plan to realize a digital golf course by using 5G technology to install cameras and sensors across all 18 holes, allowing golfers to check their round footage and shot data via an app. The paper noted that the strategic management he learned at Samsung Electronics served as the foundation for the company’s growth\u2014starting in 2000 with five employees in the Daedeok Research Complex in Daejeon and developing into a comprehensive golf group spanning golf course operations, equipment distribution, and lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
