(Co-CEOs Park Kang-soo and Choi Deok-hyung) announced on the 3rd that GOLFZON CITY GOLF, an urban golf course, was selected in the sports facilities category of the &#8216;2024 China Smart Sports Representative Cases,&#8217; hosted and officially announced on December 20 by the General Administration of China&#8217;s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the General Administration of Sport of China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the notice from the General Administration of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the General Administration of Sport regarding the call for 2024 Smart Sports Representative Cases (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology electronic document [2024] No. 330), the scope of the call covered four areas: enhancement of public health, sports competition, sports facilities, and others, with cases collected in particular around smart sports wearable devices, smart sports competition equipment and stadium facilities, and smart youth sports products. After several rounds of review, including by local experts, a total of 102 entries with advanced technology, outstanding business performance, and high growth potential were selected (38 in the public health enhancement category, 22 in the competitive sports category, 17 in the sports facilities category, and 25 in the others category).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tianjin CITY GOLF, GOLFZON&#8217;s first urban golf course business unveiled in September of last year at the Meijiang Convention Center in Tianjin, China, was selected as a representative case in the sports facilities category. Built on GOLFZON&#8217;s innovative technology, Tianjin CITY GOLF was developed by combining screen golf (golf simulators) with field greens, featuring an 18-hole layout across an 8,500-pyeong (approx. 16,500 sqm) indoor space, with 18 screens and 18 greens. Play from the tee shot through the approach takes place on the screen, and from play around the green onward, the screen opens and the game continues on an actual green area. A key feature is that it offers a vivid experience akin to playing on a real course, even in the heart of the city, without restrictions of weather or time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Various innovative technologies, grounded in GOLFZON&#8217;s golf simulator expertise, have been applied at CITY GOLF. These include an RFID system that automatically identifies golfers (electronic club identification technology), screen projection that automatically opens and closes according to shot results, and laser markers that can automatically indicate the position of the ball. Moreover, although it is a golf course built in an urban area, it was completed by merging the advantages of screen golf and the field, championing an eco-friendly golf course that does not damage nature. As a leading ESG case in the golf industry, it is significant in having laid the foundation for the sustainable development of the sports industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hong Jin-pyo, head of GOLFZON&#8217;s CITY GOLF Business Division, said, &#8220;Through this designation of CITY GOLF as a smart sports best-practice case in China, we also anticipate the expansion of GOLFZON&#8217;s business in China and the growth of the market. Led by Tianjin CITY GOLF in China, we aim to enter renowned hub cities around the world this year, and we plan to strategically expand the CITY GOLF business in line with the characteristics of each country we enter.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, GOLFZON CITY GOLF aims to establish itself as a new sports-culture landmark through urban golf course designs that incorporate themes specific to each country and region.
